The good things
Before I post a long misery-filled post:
Matilda has forgiven me. She is sleeping on my bed at night. Sam is less of a one-person-only cat, so he’s forgiven me, though I suspect he just forgot I left.
Breakfast plans at the Scary Chicken Restaurant. And then, perhaps, pear sorbet. Mmmm. And dinner plans at some restaurant a friend wants to try — I think a Portuguese one. And eventual fries at Frites Alors!, my favourite fries here. Ah, plans. I’ve got nice things coming this summer. I will need to figure out what’s coming *after* that eventually, but time enough later.

What’s the Scary Chicken Restaurant? Is that its actual name, or is there a story involved?

The Scary Chicken restaurant is called Grandmere Poule, or maybe I was at the one called Mere Poule. Anyways, I call them all that. They are very egg-themed, and the bathrooms feature a clucking chicken soundtrack. The Scary Chicken Restaurant.
They serve good breakfasts. Their apple & cheese crepes are only ordinary, but I know the place in the city to get really good ones, so it’s okay.
I love going out for breakfast.

Anyone have a clue why it wouldn’t let me post the above comment?

Dunno. Typepad’s been kinda slow this week.
I would find clucking bathrooms scary, too.
They remind me of another scary toilet: the Charmin-toilet-paper-sponsored restroom I saw while at the fair. There is something _wrong_ about hearing a tv sing cheerful songs about t.p. in a bathroom!

So that’s the comment it wouldn’t let you post earlier? Weird. I thought it was because mine was so long but evidently, that’s not the issue.

I can’t figure out why it’s not letting me post comments some times. Typepad’s been incredibly slow this week, and their trackbacks still aren’t working (though only for typepad-to-typepad posts, apparently).
I sort of wonder if it was the word poule? Only non-English one.
