Waters
Today we were forced to take a day off from doing things. But since we went to a beach, it was all good. Yet again, there were sea turtles; yet again, I didn’t have an underwater camera. I feel like Polkaroo, or like the guy who played him.
(There was this show on when I was a kid, The Polka Dot Door, and although they had different actors every week (one girl, one guy), they pretended to be the same people. And at the end of every show, the guy dressed up like Polkaroo and yelled out “Polkaroo!” and the girl would see him and then he’d leave and the guy would say “Oh, no, I missed him again!” In my head I remember that once the girl said that, but I must be wrong. Thank you, TVO.)
Again, there were two. Do they go around only in pairs? I don’t know.
I do know that the tides here seem remarkably small, and googling to figure out why didn’t give me the answer, but did inform me that in some places you only get one low tide a day. Weird. The waves are also smaller than what I am used to, but the current is stronger. The water is (warmer, of course, but also) saltier, so I can float on it with no effort at all. I was lying on my back on the water, in between the water and the sky, following the currents.
