this is a wolf angel & it eats the people it's supposed to help. A wolf angel is not a good angel to have looking out for you.

This is a wonderful poem. Why have I not heard of this poet? Maybe it is because I haven't been looking...

Searching for the elusive self; even the stars do not have answers. Finding that which is within and knowing it as "me" at the core. Love this one, thanks for posting it.

I have been keeping this poem with me since summer 1971 - just part of it I'd cut from a magazine. I've always wanted to know the complete poem and history of the poet. From the same magazine another partial poem that truly "spoke" to me but no name was given for this one -"An unexamined hump at first of no interest lifting out of the beach at last devoured us all.

I have been carrying the last verse around with me for years having read it in a diary because it spoke to my heart. I have just gone on the internet at a friends and found the whole poem and now find I must go out and try to find a book with it in as it is the most searching thing I have read since Frosts "two roads diverged"! thankyou for posting this for me to read.
