a wolf angel is not a good angel

this is a wolf angel & it eats the people it’s supposed to help. A wolf angel is not a good angel to have looking out for you.

Frustrating

I must seriously consider whether or not I want to continue in this program. I feel intensely frustrated, and I don’t see what I’m gaining. Do I care how computers deal with floating point arithmetic? No.
I have until September 30 to withdraw without (financial) penalty. And I can’t decide what’s in my better interests. […]

Do I sound bitter to you?

Why is my news.google top Canadian story something about “Well Targeted Campaign Helps Boost Bush in Wisconsin”? Can’t it be “Canadians recycle old hockey news” or “Rats in Alberta! (Not that there weren’t before, but now people are breeding them, so we can’t conceivably continue to lie about being a rat-free province)” or “Queen Mary […]

I have a severe case of apathy.
Oh, my head is full of things, but they come out stillborn, or badly written. (Alas, usually the latter. My standards here and in other comments might be *low*, but they exist.)
I’m deliberately ignoring any posts about the US election now. I don’t think any result’s going […]

Hacking my way, badly

I tried to add a “forget user info” hack (from scriptygoddess), but it seems to have screwed up something with the headers. Oh well. I am trying to install gravatars, because I think they’re sort of cute, and I’m too lazy to edit my actual layout to put my kittens back in there. So they’ll […]

I wonder how many people in this city
I wonder how many people in this city
live in furnished rooms.
Late at night when I look out at the buildings
I swear I see a face in every window
looking back at me,
and when I turn away
I wonder how many go back to their desks
and write this down.

Disappointing me’s getting me down

I am feeling disenchanted with this program. Learning to change bases and write a program that can add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions (simplified, but still) is not something I need to be doing. I do feel that this will help me in the long run — at least, I hope it will; at least, […]

Ogden Nash, The tale of Custard the dragon

In honour of Talk Like a Pirate Day. Arrr.
The tale of Custard the dragon
Belinda lived in a little white house,
With a little black kitten and a little gray mouse,
And a little yellow dog and a little red wagon,
And a realio, trulio, little pet dragon.
Now the name of the little black kitten was Ink,
And the […]

If you are, in fact, a tourist, isn’t it a little hypocritical to complain that there are too many tourists?

Argh! The new info at Chapters says Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is only being released in OCTOBER. You are such a liar, Mr. Website. I will need to order you from Amazon.ca, because, well, I am nothing if not terribly impatient.
However! I need to hit 39$ in stuff to buy for free […]
