Should I
get myself the iPod I have wanted for the past year?
If so, should I get the iPod photo, given that I know if I get it, I will never use the photo function, and if I don’t, I will want it daily? Should I try to get it on ebay and avoid at least some of the taxes, or at a store here for the “yes, I’m sure I have a warranty” factor? Or should I go to NY or VT to pick it up (what are the taxes at, and what’s the exchange rate? Can I wait till my planned trip to Albany, or my maybe-eventually trip to VT)?
How much money should I bet on being sick of all this stupid dithering and just heading off to the nearby store (which I don’t like much, but is nearby, and the prices are always the same) and picking it up one day soon at lunch, then feeling very sorry when I see my credit card bill? Can I find someone to bet against me, to offset the price of the iPod somewhat? Shouldn’t I buy new bras first, since after I make a huge purchase I will likely be unwilling to spend any money for several weeks, and I am at a crucial bra-needing point?

You should get a regular iPod and with the dif in price between that and the photo one buy bras.

The ipod is the most overpriced yet worth it object that I own. But I don’t think the photo aspect is worth it…I just can’t imagine using it for that.

Once you get your iPod, you will wonder how you ever lived without one.
As for the iPod photo, the color screen which displays cover art is cool, but its increased thickness and weight (esp. compared to the 20 GB) are significant drawbacks. The differing specs don’t seem like much, but I was surprised by how hefty the iPod photo seemed when I first played with one.

Should I get one too?
(Sorry, not meant to hijack your comments. Actually, my 30th b-day is coming up and I see an iPod in my future.)

I’ve heard such good things about the iPod, and a fair amount of “meh” about the photo version. To me, anyway, it seems a bit like buying a cell phone with the camera function, instead of buying a cheaper phone and a basic camera — you’d get a better phone and a better camera for the same money.
But then, I’m not very fond of all-in-one technology, so I’m perhaps not the best person to offer advice on it.
That said, if I had the money and if I were likely to use it, I would get the iPod. I don’t and I’m not, but it appeals to me nonetheless. :)

You should go shopping for new bras first. Then you will feel so good about having done what you should you can reward yourself with an Ipod. :>
Also, if you save money by buying your bras locally instead of flying off to Los Angeles and Paris for comparison shopping the way the newspaper says you’re supposed to do every time you need new clothes, that will be so virtuous that you will surely deserve a reward, and by the merest coincidence you’ll have the price of the airfare available for it!
The only trouble is a mere Ipod really isn’t enough reward for all that virtue — so buy yourself an Ipod *and* … ?
