kmsqrd:
I have my ears pierced. I used to have 3 sets, but all but one set closed up. They’re not usually visible, cause I have a lot of hair, and even when I pull it back, it still is a lot.
On work days, probably 3 to 5 cups of coffee, not including if I go out to dinner. In any given restaurant, likely the same, higher for breakfast, lower for dinner. On weekends, 1 or 2 cups (again, not including going out for a meal). Plus whatever is in the chocolate I eat.
Profgrrrl:
I like that I use my hands (a bit) in baking; I particularly like the tangible, useful product at the end. I love to bake for people.
Hmm. If perfectly bilingual isn’t cheating, then I’d like that, with a side of “can pick up other languages easily”. Otherwise, I’d like to be able to make wooden furniture.
I’m fairly variable on music. I don’t like things with much bass or that are particularly loud, but I will listen to most things. I have an odd love of Moroccan music.
Rana:
This is hard. I’ll think about it and answer later.
Bikinis, actually. I tried thongs and never much got into them. I’ve never gotten around to trying boy shorts.
Nope.

Movie: Dirty Pretty Things
Book: Darkness, Take My Hand by Dennis Lehane (though if you don’t like dark humour and noir detective fiction, you may want to skip this one)
Musical artist/song/album: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds / There She Goes, My Beautiful World / Abbatoir Blues-The Lyre of Orpheus (the song is on the album which is by the artist. I’ve been listening to them every other day since I bought the CD, and I haven’t gotten tired of them.)

Recommendations:
1) The Navigator (New Zealand medieval sci-fi flick from the 80s. Despite that description, it’s really good.)
2) Louise Erdrich, Tracks
3) The Cold Mountain soundtrack.
Questions:
1) How many cats total?
2) What would your ideal own house/living space look like?
3) Milk chocolate or dark?

Elaine:
1. I like purple. I chose this when I wanted to switch over but was too busy to make my own design, intending to change soon. That was in May. I still do intend to change back, though. Eventually.
2. This is good. I will write an entire post about this, because I think it’s something I need to not hide away in comments.
3. He’s a MUTANT. He hears your thoughts.
NK:
1. I have 2, my parents have 2. I’d like more of my own, but I need to find a place first. Also to consider whether Sam should move with me (probably not) and whether Matilda would kill me if I had new cats (probably) and if I would feel right making her share. Such difficult decisions.
2. Hmm. Fairly light & airy. *Not* open plan. Using blues, greens, purples, white, maybe some pink/orange/yellow accents. Comfortable more than beautiful looking. With stuff around — knicknkacs, pillows, throws, paintings, whatever — but not bare, probably coming close to cluttered. And full of cats. Ideally there would be flowers but (a) I kill them and (b) Matilda eats the ones that I manage to not kill.
3. Dark! Dark dark dark. White is second, and milk is only acceptable in some chocolate bars (Caramilk, say, and Aero — yes, I like chocolate that sells itself on the part that isn’t chocolate — and stuff with peanut butter). Mmm. 80%+ dark chocolate.

Okay so now I need to make my recommendations…
A.
1 My Sweet Little Village (by Jiri Menzel)
2 Anything by Jane Austen
3 Zapmama - the first two albums
B.
1 what’s your favorite moisturizer for really cold weather? (I was cold walking around today so I can’t help asking you this.)
2 what’s your absolute favorite kind of chocolate?
3 how many pairs of boots do you own?
The book etc. recommendations: it’s surprisingly hard to do.
February 4th, 2005 @ 2:52 pm
1. I don’t use moisturizers much. I tend to go for vaseline lotions, lubriderm, or the healing garden stuff. I would probably go for Fruit & Passion stuff, except I never buy it. But oh, it’s so nice.
2. Other than dark? It really depends. I’ve been in a chocolate-with-spice kick lately, which is really good. Plain dark chocolate almond bark is always good. And truffles! No one can resist the liqueur filled truffle. (Maybe some people *can*, but they shouldn’t.) Plus of course, chocolate baked into good things. You didn’t really want just one, did you? If so, I think I’d go for hand-made chocolate truffles.
3. Well. I have 2 pairs of everyday winter boots. I have some pairs of really-really-cold-day winter boots. I have one pair of high black boots, and one pair of lower beige boots (both of these are high-heeled). If I have others, I forget. I recently got rid of a much-loved pair of purple boots, which could use replacing with a new pair of purple — or perhaps pink, or green — pair. I *am* looking forward to spring shoe shopping, yes.

Can’t believe I didn’t do this (or did I? I’m procrastinating and skimming)

1. Favorite architectural style?
2. Most hated work of art?

1. Hmm. I’ve always loved cathedrals. Or Art Deco architecture. I suspect I’d be totally taken by Gaudi (seen photos), but I’ve never seen any of it in real life.
2. Recently I disliked Rothko.
3. Um. I don’t actually know any, except whatever I vaguely remember from the movies, which I think wouldn’t count.
