Elevator etiquette
When you are in the elevator with one other person, and the elevator stops, and the door opens, and you are standing in such a way that no one else can enter the elevator, it would be nice to move, as opposed to — say — looking shocked that someone might want to go through the door; presumably I was being silly, pressing buttons for floors I didn’t want to go to, just to irritate.

elevator etiquette is SUCH a pet peeve of mine. Also annoying: people who stand just in front of the cleavage of doors when they KNOW people are coming out but they want to rush in and run them over and get in there first.
NO manners. Deplorable.

And even more annoying are the people who try to get ON an already over-full elevator without waiting for people to get OFF of it.

Oh, I hate that, Michelle. I could go on a long time about elevator assholes. I love the term “cleavage of doors”, though.
TD: yes. Or those who refuse to put backpacks down near their feet. Or who put away their umbrellas in the elevator, showering everyone with the rain.

We have ONE elevator in my apartment building. Isn’t there SOME sort of elevator etiquette out there that mentions how incredibly RUDE it is to hold the elevator at your floor “for a few seconds” while you rush to your apartment to pick up some forgotten item? I just LOVE the folks who are moving in/out and hold it for hours at a time, like, they own it or something!

I am actually writing an article for an interal publication about elevator etiquette at a large health care company.
Got any more advice?
