Soon I will need to take time off from this
I visited the two places I liked again. One of them is okay. The other, I love. I really love. Except — it’s on a busy street, and there’s no parking. There is parking with a sticker (a block or two away), but then I would need to go out and move my car every (week)day. (Well, probably not between Dec 1 and Mar 1 or Apr 1.) Which will be a bigger pain as I mostly will not be wanting to use it, so it would be nice if it were just sitting somewhere.
The place itself is wonderful, really: exactly what I want. I have to decide what’s going to matter, and whether this is even vaguely worth considering.
And, if it’s not, I need to never ever go back, because otherwise everything else will seem boring in comparison.

I know you blogged about taking the bus in the winter. Could you get by without the car? Sell it or park it at your parents’ house?

Maybe it’s because I’ve never lived in a city, but I don’t think I could stand the parking situation (and giving up my car would not be an option). But plenty of people live this way, so I guess it depends on how much you love the place.

Well, the thing is, I don’t really want to get rid of the car. If I’d never had it, that would be one thing — but I like the freedom to go away if I want to, or to visit people who live out of the way — or to get to the library.
I am not sure if I love it quite enough, because it is seriously overpriced, and it’s already had the price reduced a lot, and I think it could never get down to my price range.
Or maybe I’m trying to convince myself against this place, now.
