a wolf angel is not a good angel

this is a wolf angel & it eats the people it’s supposed to help. A wolf angel is not a good angel to have looking out for you.

Victoria Day

Well, so far today has been singularly unproductive. I did get a new phone (digital camcorder, which is going to be, well, useless, but the camera part is there too, which will be more fun). I did not write the stuff I needed to write. I did some of the laundry I intended to do, but not most of it. I did not do the changes here I wanted to do. I did not do my hair.

It’s rainy and cold and just terrible, and I am really tired. But we’re going out for Indian for my mother’s birthday (happy birthday!), and I will come home, do my hair, and then sleep. The other stuff will have to wait, I guess, though I’m disappointed in myself for not getting them done. I did go out with friends, but my cheesecake was singularly uninspiring, and the coffee was not even good.

  1. brina:

what are you doing to your hair?

I didn’t get a lot accomplished today either. Felt lazy, unmotivated, and got some bad news in the middle of the day.

I hope that your Indian dining experience was enjoyable! And that your mother had a happy birthday.

It’s funny how you read feelings into plain text on the net…. For some reason, maybe because it’s latish here, I read the feeling of the exchange above as:

    —————–
WOLFANGEL enters the room stage left.

BRINA rises abruptly from her seat on the couch and exclaims, “ACKKKKKKKK! What in God’s Name are you doing to your hair?”
    —————–

I’m sure brina didn’t really mean it that way; it only seemed that way for a moment. LOL!

Wait — I think I know why. It’s because here in New England we would ask, “What are you doing with your hair?” Then the answer would be something normal like “Putting it in a pony tail” or “Dying it blonde.” But doing something *to* your hair sounds (to my New England ear) unusual so it must mean something unusual. What would you do *to* your hair? Hmm … dye it orange and pink and purple and superglue it in spikes and set the ends on fire, maybe…. It’s probably just regional dialect.

  4. brina:

hee. I never hear anyone say they need to “do” their hair, unless it’s a long process for something formal (or bizarre).

  5. wolfa:

    The dining was very good.

Now I’m curious: what do people *think* I’m going to do to my hair?

  6. brina:

well now I assume you meant you were just gonna wash it, which, I suppose, makes more sense since you indicated you could do it before going to sleep. I’d thought maybe you were dyeing, or trimming, or whatever. or going all-out with braiding or something. :)

  7. wolfa:

Actually, you were right, I was going to dye it. It takes about 2h from first putting the dye in to finishing the shower, so I can do it after work. Tonight! Before Lost!

  8. brina:

    ah. green? :)

  9. Cougar:

Orange and pink and purple and superglued in spikes? :>
