Weird little things
I know dogs like to roll around in the dirt, but dogs also don’t lick themselves clean. And yet, there the cat was, finding the only pile of dust on the sidewalk and rolling around in it. I really wonder what was in there.

Our neighbor’s cat rolls in the dirt all the time during the summer. We think that she’s scratching an itch or something. I’m learning not to question anything cats do anymore. There is no rationale for anything they do other than to make themselves happy.

Scratching an itch does not make sense as a response. But true: looking for reason from cats is perhaps silly.

I think that it is a cat meme. Neighbor-cat Punkin’ has rolled in the dirt for as long as I’ve known her (almost 2 years). For Punkin’ it’s an activity in the same class as grooming or being petted. Meanwhile, the other two neighbor-cats have picked up the habit.
