My new new job plan
I am going to tutor the SATs. Apparently you can get 685$ an hour.
Then, when I am sick of spoiled super rich kids, I will write a tell-all book!

I am so tempted. So very, very, very tempted. This is even better than my plan to sell meth to pre-med/pre-vet students or to accept money to take the LSAT for people trying to get into law school.

I now know what I shall do when I finish grad school next spring. I may opt out of the tell-all book, however. Too time consuming.

Good grief. That’s fucking ridiculous that parents go to such lengths for their children.

But, see, the tell-all would be *fun*.
In any case, be sure to notice the one tutor who got paid 2000/week for 2h/day (I assume a 5 day week) — but was flown to the US Virgin Islands for 3 weeks. That one also sounds like a fine idea.

My hat is off to you: you have definitely found the ideal job and tolerating rich spoiled brats would most certainly be softened by trips to the Carribean. (I can smell the Pina Coladas now…)

I did that for a while when I was a junior high teacher. In the evenings.

I actually tutored a lot of high school students for years, mostly math & science. Never quite that high a rate, though. Mostly I liked the kids.
The only reason this career path seems promising is the idea of a lot of money, then leaving.

I tutored SAT’s in college and only made $15 an hour. Stupid Kaplan.

Oh, man, Neg Cap, no trips to the islands! You were robbed! You should sue!

I know someone who does this in NYC and was able to buy an apartment in Manhattan … but his soul is gone …

I don’t think your soul necessarily will go. I would be willing to take the risk. (Also, I like teenagers.)

I can’t even remember what I got paid to do the SAT prep courses, but I remember thinking it was a lot of money….
