Be a lady tonight
I saw Match Point tonight and, to my surprise, I liked it. I am not a Woody Allen fan, or at least, not his recent stuff. And I was truly not in the mood for neurotic Jews or New Yorkers. But there were no neuroses, no Jews, no New Yorkers! Plus, I always always like seeing movies which don’t go the “everything happens for a reason” route (which is probably part of why Lost is getting tiresome, though the other part is the annoying not-dead-yet-ness of Jack), and this one was all about how your life is mostly dependent on luck.
This I believe strongly: the most significant things in my life, for better or for worse, happened due to blind chance, from that particular sperm hitting that particular egg right on through.

Excellent!! I was hoping Woody might get his act together soon.

Yes, this is definitely worth seeing. Well-written, well-acted, clever with a few laugh out loud moments.

[…] I liked Match Point. I’d never read a review, nor even seen the preview. […]
