No browser is perfect
As much as I like some aspects of Firefox — tabbed browsing most notably, and a few of the extensions — I have to say that it has started to drive me nuts. It probably crashes 4 times a week (up from once or twice a week); it is the only application I run which ever, ever crashes. (And, yes, I still use IE daily. And, no, I haven’t installed anything new recently.) It uses up almost all of my system resources.
Maybe I should switch to Opera?

Firefox has been crashing for me ever since the last upgrade; before then, maybe once or twice a month. I’ve found turning off javascript helps, but of course some sites require it, and then I have to worry about crashes.

Which version are you using? I’m running 1.0.7 and it’s very stable.

I’m running 1.5. When I was running 1.0.x (I don’t remember if it was 1.0.7) everything ran fine.

I’m also using 1.5. I need to leave javascript on for other reasons. I think that — plus Acrobat — are the problems. And I refuse to try to rollback.

Um … all versions prior to 1.5 have a major security hole, right? So running them should be out of the question….

1.5.0.1 was just released today (fixing more security holes). Maybe that will help. (Actually, I am required to use it for work, but I could have done a rollback on my home computer, which I wouldnt.)
