Doctoring
The good news is that it’s not a brain tumour! It’s maybe benign positional vertigo, except that what usually fixes it — something called Epley maneuver — didn’t fix it. Tomorrow: blood test (not sure why, but 3 years ago I was anemic); next week: another appointment.
Any bright ideas on how to work when every movement makes your head spin? I really can’t just not work any longer.

Ugh, sorry you’re feeling so awful. My father had/has a similar condition. Nasty stuff.

Yikes, that sounds tough to deal with. Hope you feel better. I have to express a little surprise to learn that the Epley maneuver is not a finishing move in Greco-Roman wrestling, but you learn sumthin’ new every day.

But — but — advice? Please?
The Epley maneuver involves hanging your head off a table and having it turned this way or that to clear out particles in your ear.
My father is now into telling me it’s Legionnaire’s disease (which he had when I was little), except neither of us think it is that. Which is good, what with it having a high fatality rate. Though it seems less frightening than a brain tumour.

If you don’t have other symptoms, it seems like an inner ear problem isn’t unlikely.
My father ended up in the hospital for 3 days - he was so incapacitated they thought he’d had a stroke. He was diagnosed with labryinthitis, but what he said the docs said (crystals etc.) makes it sound more like bppv to me. (I wouldn’t be surprised if they described both to him or something - he has, uh, selective hearing on a good day.) There wasn’t much to do about it except wait and see if it improved. I don’t know if they did the Epley stuff with him or not. The vertigo and nausea did gradually go away over a couple weeks.
So, I’m sure that’s helpful. :) Maybe try meds for the vertigo so you can work?

My friend and fellow-whiner Neighbor Lady has been plagued by the same problem for several years now. I’ll try to reach her tomorrow morning to see if she has any advice.
