As I continue to torture myself
By reading the forums for House.
It’s interesting to me that Cameron professes to be an atheist but is the best Christian of the lot.
See, she’s not any kind of Christian, because she’s an atheist. I’m not sure what “professes to be” means in this context, but it seems to imply she’s lying about it. The characters who claim to be religious must be lying, because they’re the least “Christian”? The ones who say they’re atheists are also lying, because they’re good people, and no true atheist is moral? And of course Judaism is just something about not eating ham and can otherwise be ignored; no other religions exist at all. The show makes some interesting points about morality and ethics, often: you can be moral and not ethical, or vice versa; these are not correlated to religion or being “nice” or anything else; sometimes both sides are right, or wrong. And then I read the forums where it’s all distilled into the most simplistic possible themes.
