A little worrisome
Why was someone ringing my doorbell, then knocking at my door, at 11:30 at night? I assume if it’s someone who knew me, they’d have phoned. I don’t really understand, but I can’t see how it can be good.

If anybody comes knocking on my door at 11:30 they’d better not just stand there knocking — they’d better speak up and tell me who they are. The ones who just knock are always lost, looking for a drug dealer. I don’t even answer the door at night when it’s just a knock — if it’s a friend or if it’s a stranger with an emergency they say so.

By the way, if you know where the local drug dealer lives and give them directions, he won’t appreciate it. He doesn’t want fools who go telling his business to the whole neighborhood for customers.

I ignored it, but the layout of my front is such that I can’t tell who it was without showing I am there, which seems like a bad idea. Plus, I wasn’t really clothed at the time. I never really thought about what I would do if I knocked somewhere late. I never answer the door unless I am expecting someone (or a package).
But there’ve been home invasions recently, including one a few blocks away, and at the same time of night. So I am somewhat wary.
And I don’t know where the local drug dealer lives, no.

I am still unsettled, but no one else has knocked or rang the doorbell, and no one has broken in.

Perhaps someone was trying to visit one of your neighbors and got their condo unit number wrong? I’ve knocked on the wrong doors by mistake when was dark out…
