An update which adds nothing, since that is what I am doing
It would have been an ideal day if I hadn’t suddenly developed a canker sore — I haven’t had those in years and years, probably since before puberty. And if someone at some point had mentioned that I was turning red and should reapply the suntan lotion, because I am pinker than I would like.
But the water was more than balmy today — 60! Positively warm! Low tide was late, almost 5, so the beach was big all day. I spent a fair amount of time in the water. I love the ocean, it’s my favourite type of body of water. What’s the point of water when it’s not moving? I am not doing much but being on the beach, but it is okay. And good, too, because for the first time in a long time I have not imagined drowning. (This is a less happy note to end on than I would like.)
I am still planning on heading to Boston Tuesday and trying to get in touch with people to meet, which will be fun.

Best remedy I know for canker sores? Listerine (or other anti-bacterial mouthwash). Makes ‘em disappear.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation.

I totally second parodie’s rec. Dab some listerine (that stuff is vile!) on the sores, and they disappear.

While you’re in Boston, go to the beach!
Check out how many places there are to go swimming around Boston. It’s kind of amazing.

They disappear because they’ve been burned off! :) Ooh. Never actually tried that remedy, but it sounds painful.

Listerine is basically alcohol, isn’t it? I wonder if Johnnie Walker would work as well, or Drambuie, or whatever flavor of alcohol you happen to try….
