Weather
Today the heat was oppressive; walking outside felt like walking into a wall. It was humid, though the breeze was enough to make being outside bearable. And then suddenly it started to rain — lightning and thunder and pouring rain and strong strong winds blowing the rain into my house. But the storm blew over (though I anticipate another one), and the house has cooled itself right down to bearable overnight levels.

I read that the heat wave was continent-wide. The short bike ride I did yesterday was terrible due to the wind and the heat.
The lightning was impressive.

I think it didn’t go all the way south — apparently it was hotter here than in (part of) Florida. I mostly refuse to do too much outside until it cools off (tomorrow!)
It’s supposed to rain today, but it’s also supposed to be cloudy right now, and the bright sun suggests otherwise. It’s all hot and humid again.
I will regret these complaints come winter.
