Landed immigrant does sound cool. It makes me think of the olden days and want to say “Laaaaand” in a really weird accent and dreamy tone.

My sponsor and I were sitting in the holding pen for everyone with an 8am interview discussing this exact same thing. From all my official correspondence, though, it does look like the government is switching over to “permanent resident.” At least I had a “landing interview.” Whee! Two years before I go for the passport.
