Who will (with luck) be our next prime minister?
I thought I was the only person who has no idea who the next leader of the liberal party will be. Ignatieff? Long on ideas, short on political skill. I don’t like Bob Rae. Is anyone else even a contender anymore? I sort of am fond of Stephane Dion, but he’s likely only to be kingmaker, not king. I have no feelings about Gerard Kennedy, though I prefer him to Rae.
The reality is, of course, that any of them could do fine, because they complement each other quite well — but only if the losing three don’t work to undermine the winner in a fit of pique.
I’d say Bob Rae, with a second bet for Gerard Kennedy. I guess there will be better estimates after the debates (which I will ignore, as it will be my sister’s birthday and I will be out eating steak and mushrooms instead).
