a wolf angel is not a good angel

The pre-tow warning truck just drove by my street. The signs say no parking from 7pm to 7 am, though I believe they were not posted until after 8 this morning. It is now almost 9. Under my window alone, I can see three cars still parked. (Two, I just heard one drive away.)

I have an incredible urge to sit here and watch the cars get towed. Perhaps fortunately, my windows are almost completely iced over, so I have to stand on my tiptoes to peer out, and that is far too much trouble.

And now it drove by again, beeping enough to annoy everyone on the street, but not towing the cars. Come on, city workers, grant me my schadenfreude.

And now it drove by again, scaring Matilda who had been happily a-napping on me.

I set my alarm for [horribly early time] this morning. But I have been so sleep deprived that I didn’t even hear it for an hour, and didn’t drag myself up for another hour after that. Luckily, though I had stuff I really wanted to get done during those two hours, I had nothing that I had to get done then. Now I cannot find my socks. I hate mornings.

I watched the first episode of Little Mosque on the Prairie — the television show that, when I first saw an ad for it, I thought was one of those gag ads that 22 Minutes sometimes shows. It takes the easy jokes (mostly anti-Toronto) and is generally exactly like a sitcom. There have been letters about it since, mostly positive, a few saying it wasn’t very funny, and one saying that it was entirely inappropriate for anyone to even consider mentioning Islam in a sitcom and all Muslims find it wrong (except, presumably, for the ones who have produced the show and the ones who have written about how they like the show and the ones who are just watching and enjoying it) and maybe there should just be a documentary instead.

But you know, whatever negative stereotypes people might have against Islam now, can you just imagine how much worse they would be (”Wow, Islam is boring AND violent”) after several hours of a CBC documentary?

Oh so crampy. I feel crampy and grumpy and ow.
And I pity any girl who is me right now.

Hey, suddenly I got my period. Sorry, Stephen Sondheim — but I bet this is what Maria wanted to sing on occasion, too.

I get home at 12:30 from a party, exhausted and with one contact lens that has fallen out (I have problems with that eye, the party wasn’t so wild). All I want to do is go to sleep.

So what do I see but a huge truck parked in my parking spot.

Now I have to sit around waiting for the police to come and tow the stupid truck instead of sleeping, like all happy mes would be doing at this point.

Update: still waiting! When a car is available, it will come, but no clue when. Tired! So far, angry and vengeful is beating out tired. I hope you rot in hell, asshole who parked in my parking spot.

Update 2: either they never came, or I didn’t wake up when they came. Damn.

I found my favourite skirt, only a month or so after it went missing. I still have not found either of my two pairs of missing jeans, though, but they’re much easier to replace. Not that I am going to, because I remain convinced they will turn up.

I decided I despise Spam Karma. It keeps telling me that spam was ham, because the urls were used in good comments, which I couldn’t find. And — most annoyingly — I couldn’t set it up to automatically moderate people who post from a new email address. Back to Akismet, which worked well for me, until it suddenly broke. But it has been way less annoying.

When I wake up to a really bad dream, and I remember that it was realistic (though everything seems realistic in dreams) but not what the dream was, so I am anxious all morning.

I had planned some post in my head this morning. But I left the house around 8:30 and got back around 11:00, so whatever it is, it’s gone. I liked House tonight! Oh, the entire episode was idiotic, but the very last scene made it all worthwhile.

I need to catch up on sleep soon.

I’m having issues with my Spam Karma plugin. Would people try to comment here? Especially people who’ve had their comments recently caught as spam — sheepish, Michelle, Phantom, plam? But really anyone, because SK2 is sort of not working very well for me.
