What is “steampunk”? is it common?

Steampunk is when you have fantasy where we’ve not moved on from powering everything using steam, but we still have computers and stuff. (Well, the computers aren’t necessary — really, it’s any fantasy where steam power is the dominant power method. ‘The Difference Engine’ is steampunk, China Mieville writes steampunk.

Ah! That’s what steampunk is.
At least I can claim that the only movie I’ve seen (from your list) and didn’t guess was “The Little Mermaid.”
I should really get out more, clearly.

My Cousin Vinny and The Little Mermaid are the only other movies on the list I’ve seen aside from Usual Suspects, and there’s no way I’d have guessed them from those keywords.

Ah — The Little Mermaid is the only one I’ve seen. Besides Saving Grace. Songs From the Second Story definitely sounds intriguing.
