Have the networks given up?
Tonight’s Heroes ended with “only 3 episodes left” which is true only if they’re planning on wrapping the season up this month, strike or no strike. Not that it seems all that hopeful, the no strike possibility, but I keep imagining that maybe the studios will come to their senses.

Weren’t they planning on doing some side series of new characters for a month or two? Maybe with the most popular ones getting added to the regular cast? (Hopefully at the same time they axe Nikki and the poisonous siblings.) I think that might be what it is. Also, seems like a number of shows are going towards the two “mini season” formats - like Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and a few others.

They planned to do 24 episodes, plus 6 new character episodes. The new character thing is backburnered, and the season length is heavily dependent on if the strike winds up soon, but now it seems like no matter what, this season ends in December.
I don’t mind the mini season format, but this is a different issue.
