Well, I haven’t been listening to Canada Reads, but on the strength of your previous post, I decided that I’m going to read Brown Girl in the Ring. I’m neither brown nor a girl myself, but on the other hand I’m not 70 years old or a hockey player, either, and in any case it would be boring to read exclusively about people who are just like me.
I enjoyed the book a lot, and would happily recommend it. It is a first book, and reads like one in a number of ways, though some of those complaints are mostly about not understanding fantasy as a genre.
