Last night I made black bean soup, because I had bought the stuff and I figured, hey, a good time to make food is when you’re sick. Yes, I’m generally sane like that. I don’t like soup, generally, but this one is thick enough that it’s acceptable. (I also eat: potato and leek soup. Keep […]

Last week I made the long-rise bread, after great trouble finding something to cook it in, which last night I realised was totally not a problem because I have something myself (in fact, the same thing I borrowed! but it’s in the pile of “kitchen stuff my grandmother insisted I take” which is, by and […]

It is warm today, but grey and drizzly. No walks for me. And, alas, a poor night’s sleep last night.
Instead, I found out I am just like Sandra Bullock, only with way less money. I won the Miss Congeniality prize for highest calorie best dessrt in flea’s embarrassing meal contest: brownie pie, for when you […]

I am making salsas for dinner. (With other things, but it will be all abotu the salsa. All chipotle, as it happens.)
So I made one dressing, which is yogurt and papaya and lime juice and chipotle. Very nice (I tasted it, of course). But I, I don’t know, didn’t read the other recipe? So […]

Apple cheese quiche

Posted: Tuesday, October 19th, 2004 @ 7:15 pm in Recipes | 2 Comments »

Today I finally made the recipe I’d been planning on for months and months: an apple cheddar quiche. I think apples plus sharp cheddar cheese is the best combination in the entire world (with the exception of many combinations involving chocolate), and when placed in a delicious flakey pie crust? Oh, yum.
2 apples, […]
